Farley provides gift in will so students can pursue global health vision

Having traveled to all seven continents, Donna Farley has seen firsthand the value of global public health. When she generously included a gift in her will to the UIC School of Public Health (SPH), she designated the funds to cover travel expenses to help students pursue their global health field placements or internships. Dr. Farley believes that many students who are interested in global health will travel abroad as part of their practicum, but the travel expenses can be prohibitive. Therefore, this scholarship will help students obtain the best and most impactful training experience possible during their education.

Dr. Farley soaked up the knowledge from her classes at UIC SPH and believes that students who pursue a public health degree have “unending opportunities” ahead of them.

When looking back at the adventures of her life thus far, Dr. Farley said she owes a great debt to the UIC School of Public Health. “I have a growing realization about how important my M.P.H. and my public health experience were for my personal and professional development,” says Farley. “I wouldn’t be where I am now without it. It was my launching pad,” she concludes.
